Hello!

It's been a long time I know, but I'm back (and not a little, I make up for other days!) To tell you about my vacation. And especially to show you the pictures.

First with Querdy then with Adeline.

Holidays with Querdy :

Querdal is expected to arrive very late at Prestwick, he spent the night at the airport, take a morning train to Glasgow and we would have found there to visiter la ville avant de rentrer à Falkirk. Après un repas dans Grassmarket, nous avons visité le château, fait un tour en ville avant de reprendre le train pour Falkirk.

Les autres évènements marquants de la semaine ont été, dans l’ordre des photos : une rando autour de Stirling, du château au Wallace monument, en passant par une petite abbaye en ruine. Ensuite, visite de la Calendar House, de son parc et bois. Rando entre the downtown and the Falkirk Wheel in Falkirk, along the Union Canal al'allée and Forth and Clyde Canal in return. And finally, missing pictures, the Linlithgow Palace and Loch.

The whole was decorated with frequent visits to the library for internet, movies and series. A nice week.

It started with a bang with the rental car. Arrival at Prestwick at 23.40, then une heure et demie de conduite dans le noir, à gauche, sur une route en travaux. Trop cool. Le lendemain (jeudi 15) texto bizarre de Maman : êtes-vous dans un nuage de cendres ? Le ciel étant plutôt immaculé, je l’appelle et c’est ainsi que nous apprenons le blocage des aéroports à cause de l’éruption du volcan islandais au nom imprononçable. La semaine nous voit assez inquiètes quant au retour en France d’Adeline ou non… Cela ne sous empêche pas de bien utiliser le temps que nous avons.

Jeudi : C’est la virée autour du Firth of Forth (Nord-Est de Falkirk): Culross et son palace tout jaune et son jardin botanique. Ensuite Dunfermline, avec l’Abbot House toute rose, le palace et son abbaye (avec une tourelle frappée au nom de Robert the Bruce) et le Pittencrieff Park avec ses écureuils gris. On finit le tour avec South Queensferry et le Forth Road Bridge, et un café.

Vendredi : journée plutôt farniente, shopping dans Falkirk, bronzette au Calendar Parc, jeux… Le soir pub avec Chris et Greig for a while.

Samedi : Journée lochs et forêts, à l’Ouest de Falkirk ce coup ci, première étape : Aberfoyle avec le Scottish Wool Centre et ses moutons, puis le loch Achray, le Ben Ledi et enfin le loch Katrine (cher a Walter Scott apparemment) on which we make a boat trip. On the way home: Doune Castle (already closed) and Stirling where we dine in a French restaurant.

Sunday: St Andrews to begin his castle, the cathedral (in ruins) and its aquarium. Back by small fishing villages along the Firth of Forth Crail, Pittenweem, St Monans, Lower Largo.

Monday : job for me in the morning, Adeline discovers the House Calendar and its exposure to the old ads on hideouts in enamel. In the afternoon, stroll along the River Avon, surrounded by sheep. Meal at La Banca, English restaurant for birthday Adeline.

Tuesday Glasgow, travel with Claire and her cousin. Visit the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum, with rooms on French painters, Italian, Dutch ... the Christ of Saint John of the Cross Dali. Nous arrivons 4 minutes avant l’horaire décidé pour rendre la voiture > <) Pique nique, petit bac et voilà, c’est le départ, dans un aéroport quasi vide, comme si de rien n’était.
