Cette nuit vers 3h30, quelqu’un vient s’installer dans un lit voisin. Il fait tout dans les règles : pas de bruits, couché en deux-deux. Seul hic : il ronfle ! Et assez méchamment :/ Du coup on a pas trainé pour être prêtes this morning. At 9am, showered and dressed executive breakfast cereals, coffee and tea, milk, hot water, toast, jam, butter, fruit ... it's very comprehensive. It's behind us a couple of French (yet!). 10am takeoff Gogarty to O'Connell Street. First Post Office (that of the Easter Rising in 1916) to buy stamps and then we decided to rent bikes. It was not necessarily a good idea in a city as big as a car with! Finally, we rely very fast (near Christ Church, an impressive church) and we go to the Guinness Storehouse, la fabrique de Guinness.
L’entrée est un peu chère (15€) mais ça vaut le coup : 6 étages dont à bar avec vue à 360° sur Dublin au sommet du bâtiment en forme de pinte de Guinness, si grand qu’on pourrait le remplir avec 7 millions de litres de bière. La visite nous prend 2 bonnes heures et quand nous trouvons un endroit pour manger c’est déjà 15h. Après le repas, Collins Barracks, où des éléments du muséum d’histoire naturelle ont été transférés pendant les travaux, surtout les animaux empaillés et les trucs dégueulasses (grenouilles transparentes, embryons de souris…) Il y a aussi an exhibition which combines the Irish clothes 17th century to today, mixing in no apparent order shoes and boots of seven leagues. According to the guide, an old distillery chimney in the area offers a 360 ° view of the city. Arrived on site, the tower is abandoned: /
We then take the tram to get to another part of town to see a statue honoring the victims of severe famine in Ireland in the 19th century. The statue is found, it ends in shopping and window shopping. Back to Gogarty, little game of cards before dinner. Back at the room, we find two young men (des frères) from les îles Canaries qui viennent d’arriver. Soirée dans la Temple Bar, quelques verres, de la musique !
